Waggy Walks
Waggy walks is an academic project I recently worked on. I was to design a responsive User Interface tailored for a location-based dog walking platform. This platform empowers dog owners to seamlessly connect with local walkers and effortlessly schedule walks for their furry companions. A pivotal aspect of the website's success lies in its user-friendly booking system, designed to accommodate the diverse needs and schedules of pet owners. Using Figma as the primary tool, I first created a moodboard that encapsulated the core values of Waggy Walks: playful, fun, immersed in nature, safety-conscious, caring, serene, and dependable. Drawing inspiration from these values, I made a visual identity characterised by organic shapes and soothing natural hues, striking a harmonious balance between tranquility and playfulness. During the early design stages I checked the text/heading sizes, checked the fonts were readable and refined the colour pallet making sure it passed the colour contrast test for web. For this project intentionally chose white text on a dark green background and vice versa to maintain accessibility and avoid overwhelming users with excessive colours that could distract from the design's functionality. I Intentionally placed buttons to follow a consistent placement pattern observed across various sites eg back button top left, filter button top right.
